Hello! Exciting to hear about your travel plans to Kariba, Chirundu, and Makuti. Here are some travel tips for you:

Best Time to Visit:
The ideal time to visit these places in Zimbabwe is between April and October. During this period, the weather is mild and the wildlife viewing is excellent, especially in Kariba which is known for its wildlife just as much as its lake.

Route and Accessibility:
All three locations can be reached via road from Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. Kariba and Chirundu are easily accessible by boat or by road, while Makuti is primarily a road-based destination. International flights land in Harare, from where you can take local transportation or a rented car.

Accommodation and Booking:
There are numerous accommodations available in these cities including lodges, campsites, and hotels. It's recommended to secure your booking in advance, especially during the high season from June to October. Online booking platforms or contacting the lodges directly are reliable methods for booking.

Clothing and Essentials:
Pack lightweight clothing for the warm days and heavier clothing for cooler hours early morning and at night. Don't forget a good pair of walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat to protect you from the sun.

Health and Safety:
Ensure that your routine vaccines are up to date. Travel clinics often suggest vaccines for Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid and Yellow Fever. Malaria is a risk in Zimbabwe, so anti-malaria medication may be required. Always carry a first aid kit and bottled water to stay hydrated.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Zimbabweans are generally polite and reserved people. It's customary to greet with a handshake, smile, and ask about their wellbeing. Dress modestly when not on tourist spots or wildlife reserves. Always ask for permission before photographing people.
