Absolutely, Goa is a wonderful destination and there's a lot to explore in both South and North Goa.
Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit is between November and February when the weather is pleasant, clear and there's a party atmosphere with Christmas and New Year celebrations. If you enjoy monsoon and lush greenery, then June to September is also a good time.
Route and Accessibility:
Goa is well connected by air, rail and road. Dabolim Airport is 29km from the state’s capital, Panaji. Madgaon and Thivim are main railway stations in Goa. You can rent cars or two-wheelers to get around Goa itself.
Altitude and Acclimatization:
Goa is a coastal area and relatively flat, so there's no need to worry about altitude acclimatization.
Accommodation and Booking:
Goa has a plethora of options ranging from budget to luxury. Beach shacks in the south, heritage villas in the north and star luxury properties are available. During peak season, it is wise to book your accommodation in advance.
Clothing and Essentials:
Pack casual summer clothing, swimsuits, sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. Light woollens might be required for late nights in December and January. Beach sandals and comfy shoes for walking are recommended.
Health and Safety:
Maintain good hydration and sun protection. Pack all necessary medications and a basic travel first aid kit.
Local Etiquette and Respect:
While Goans are used to tourists, it is still advisable to dress modestly, especially while visiting religious places such as churches and temples. Drinking in public is banned in Goa. Respect local traditions and customs.
