Travel Tips

Absolutely! Jeddah, Ta'if, and Mecca are beautiful cities in Saudi Arabia each with its unique charm. To ensure a trouble-free experience, these are some travel tips to consider:

Best Time to Visit:
The ideal time to visit these cities for sightseeing is between November and February as the weather is cool and pleasant. However, if your visit is for Hajj, that will take place between July and August depending on the Islamic calendar.

Route and Accessibility:
Jeddah has an international airport which is well-connected across the globe. From here, you can take a bus or a taxi to Mecca, which takes about an hour. Ta'if is a 2-hour drive from Mecca. Car rentals are also available.

Altitude and Acclimatization:
While Ta'if is located at higher altitude, it's not high enough for most people to experience altitude sickness. But it's always a good idea to stay hydrated and rest if you're feeling dizzy or short of breath.

Accommodation and Booking:
Peak seasons may witness heavy footfalls so it is advisable to book your accommodation well in advance. The choices range from luxury hotels to budget stays.

Clothing and Essentials:
Saudi Arabia is a conservative country. Women are advised to wear an abaya and it is recommended for men to wear similar modest attire. If you’re travelling for Hajj, you’ll be required to wear Ihram clothing. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats are helpful for the daytime.

Health and Safety:
Ensure you’re vaccinated for Meningitis before travelling. It’s advisable to drink bottled water and avoid raw or uncooked food.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Remember to respect the local culture and traditions. Non-Muslims are restricted from entering certain parts of Mecca. Always ask for permission before taking someone's photograph. Public display of affection is frowned upon and alcohol is strictly prohibited.
