Travel Tips

Hello! It's always exciting to plan a trip. Thailand offers a blend of culture, history, beautiful landscapes and amazing beaches. Here are my recommendations for your travels to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.

Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit Thailand, including destinations like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, is during the cool and dry season between November and early April. During these months, the temperature ranges from 20°C to 32°C. However, if you're a fan of tropical weather, the rainy season from July to October can be less crowded.

Route and Accessibility:
Starting from Bangkok is a suitable choice as it's globally connected by numerous flights. From Bangkok, you can use domestic airlines to reach Chiang Mai and Phuket. Airport Rail Link, taxis, BTS Skytrain are good options for local city transportation in Bangkok. In Chiang Mai and Phuket, taxis, Songthaews (local red trucks), and rented motorbikes are widely used.

Accommodation and Booking:
Thailand boasts a wide range of accommodations catering to all budgets. Booking in advance, particularly during the peak season, is recommended. Websites like Agoda, Booking.com or Airbnb can be used. From luxury hotels to cheap hostels and guesthouses, you can find almost any type of accommodation.

Clothing and Essentials:
Pack light casual clothes such as shirts, shorts, and flip-flops for the tropical climate. But, if you plan to visit religious sites, be sure to bring respectful attire-covering shoulders and knees. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are also necessary due to the hot sun.

Health and Safety:
General precautions include travel health insurance, drinking bottled water, and using insect repellent. Avoid street food if your stomach is sensitive. Thailand is generally a safe country for solo travellers, but as with any destination, it's important to stay vigilant.

Local Etiquette and Respect:
Thai people are generally polite and respectful. Following some simple rules like removing your shoes before entering someone's home, avoiding touching people's heads, and being respectful with Buddhist images and in temples, makes a huge difference. The head is considered sacred and the feet are seen as disrespectful in Thai culture.
