Travel Tips

Sure! Exploring Trujillo, Chiclayo, Chachapoyas, and Cajamarca in Northern Peru provides a chance to see a different side of the country away from the crowded tourist routes.
Best Time to Visit:
It is generally suggested to visit these cities during the dry season from May to September when the weather is typically sunny and pleasant.
Route and Accessibility:
Trujillo and Chiclayo have airports with domestic flights from Lima. From Chiclayo, Chachapoyas is a 5-7 hours bus ride. Cajamarca has an airport as well, but it might be best to visit it separately, as it's further away.
Altitude and Acclimatization:
Unlike the high cities of the Southern Andes, these cities aren't at an altitude to cause altitude sickness. However, if you are planning to hike in the surrounding hills, take it easy for the first couple of days.
Accommodation and Booking:
Booking accommodations ahead of time is recommended, particularly in peak seasons. From luxury hotels to budget-friendly hostels, a variety of stay options are available in all four cities.
Clothing and Essentials:
Pack some light clothing and heavy ones for the evening, as the weather can fluctuate. Also, pack your swimwear if you plan to visit the beach near Trujillo or Chiclayo, and comfortable walking shoes for sightseeing.
Health and Safety:
Stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun. Also carry a basic first-aid kit, any personal medication, and insect repellent.
Local Etiquette and Respect:
Show respect to the local people and observe local customs and traditions. Spanish is the primary language, so knowing a few basic phrases can be helpful.
